Summer Festivals Kick-Off in Frontier Country
Looking for summer day trips and family fun activities? Some of the best annual events along with a few new events are coming up in Frontier Country!
Starting this weekend off is the 31st Red Earth Festival! For three exciting days, Oklahoma City will be at the center of Western and Native art and culture as more than 30,000 people gather to celebrate. Friday morning kicks-off the event with the Red Earth Parade at the Myriad Gardens. All weekend long experience Native artisits, dancers and singers as they gather in Oklahoma City for this annual event to celebrate their heritage. For more information go to redearth.org.
Also kicking-off the weekend is the Prix de West® Invitational Art Exhibition & Sale Opening Weekend at The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Prix de West Opening Weekend events include seminars, artist demonstrations, receptions, awards, and trunk show at The Museum Store. Works remain on display through August 6. On Saturday is the Norman Legacy Rotary-Legacy Fest Car and Bike Show on Campus Corner! From 11 am to 7 pm, explore 20 vehicles classes and 5 motorcycle classes, enjoy live bands all day, vendors, food and a kids zone!
