5 Things to do in Central Oklahoma this Weekend
Whether you are gearing up for a big game or planning a fun staycation this weekend, there is plenty to keep you busy! Here's 5 events not to miss this weekend.
1. The State Fair of Oklahoma - Oklahoma City
The Oklahoma State Fair is back, Sept. 15-25 at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. As one of the top state fairs in North America, the Fair showcases Oklahoma's agriculture, manufacturing and commerce featuring family entertainment, exhibits, delicious food, exciting competitions and more. Admission is $10 and under. Check online for a full schedule of events and tickets.
2. Heard on Hurd - Edmond
Enjoy local live music, food trucks and pop-up shops at Citizens Bank of Edmond’s Heard on Hurd, Sept. 17. In the heart of downtown Edmond between Main and Hurd Street will be more than 30 food trucks and pop-up shops to enjoy from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
3. Mix on Main - Norman
Mix on Main offers a variety of activities for all ages! On Sept. 16 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., come gear up for the Sooners game with plenty of food trucks including Big Truck Tacos, Mutts Amazing Hot Dogs, The Saucee Sicilian, The Loaded Bowl, Midway Deli,That Pie Place and test your skills at the interactive gaming truck, glow golf and barre yoga. See what local shops have to offer including Brockhaus Jewelry, Cayman’s, In Your Dreams, McMichael Music, Mel’s Kloset, Mitchell’s Jewelry, Occasions, Silouette, The Candy Basket and more. Mix On Main is located on Main Street between 24th Street and Mercedes. Parking is available behind Mitchell’s Jewelry.
4. Friday, Food Trucks & Tunes - Stillwater
If you are headed to Stillwater for the big game make sure not to miss Fridays, Food Trucks and Tunes on Sept. 16 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Enjoy this Pre-Game party before every home football game and experience delicious food from more than 20 local food trucks, inflatables for kids and live music. This event is free and located at 8th Avenue and Husband Street.
5. Downtown Block Party - Shawnee
The third Friday of every month plays host to the Downtown Block party in Shawnee. This free community event coordinated by the Shawnee Artist's Guild began with a single business and has expanded to include over a dozen locations. Merchants are open from 6:00pm-9:00pm and feature exhibits in art galleries, live music, dining, shopping, and entertainment. Every month offers a new theme and excitement.
