CENTRAL OKLAHOMA - Kicking off Memorial Day weekend, Frontier Country is reviving its popular summer campaign "Trips on a Tank Full" that offers special discounts to central Oklahoma's tourist attractions, restaurants and hotels.

From Memorial Day through Labor Day, travelers are encouraged to visit the Frontier Country Web site at www.oktourism.com or call (800) FUN-OKLA to request "Trips on a Tank Full" money-saving coupons, free brochures and travel guides. Travelers can also create itineraries online to plan their summer getaways in central Oklahoma.

"Each year at this time Frontier Country Marketing Association along with its membership receives countless phone calls from consumers requesting 'Trips' coupons," said Sherri Rogers, executive director of Frontier Country. "After a three year hiatus, the staff decided to give consumers what they want. This summer everyone will be watching their dollars and plan to vacation closer to home, this felt like the right thing to do. We are excited to bring folks to Frontier Country and allow them to save money, have a great time and create a life time of memories. Isn't that what vacations are all about?"

In central Oklahoma, tourists can experience Oklahoma's frontier through Route 66 sights, world-class museums, amazing art displays and performances and exciting sporting events. Plus there are hundreds of family-friendly events and special exhibits listed online at www.oktourism.com.
