OKLAHOMA CITY – Frontier Country Marketing Association recently named Sherri Rogers as the new executive director of the multi-county promotion organization.

Effective Oct. 1, Rogers will direct Frontier Country's cooperative marketing opportunities and publications and work in coordination with the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department to promote the 12 central counties of Oklahoma to in- and out-of-state travelers.

"Sherri is an avid supporter of tourism in and around our state and brings with her years of marketing and management experience," said Gordona Rowell, president of the Frontier Country Board of Directors.

Since 2004, Rogers served as the executive director for the Norman Convention & Visitors Bureau, where she was responsible for recruiting the AAU 13-under Girls National Basketball Tournament, which brought in $3.5 million dollars to the Norman area economy. Her previous experience includes sales at the NCVB, athletic events director and assistant men's golf coach at the University of Oklahoma.
