The following is a truncated list of events occurring in Central Oklahoma Frontier Country.


CENTRAL OKLAHOMA Yukon’s annual Pumpkin Harvest Craft Festival is Nov. 5 at the Robertson Activity Center. The free event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. features more than 40 craft booths with a varitety of products including candles, jewelry, quilts, hand-crafted items, home décor, holiday décor and more. The Guthrie Art Walk is a celebration of fine art, food and fun as historic downtown Guthrie shops and galleries showcase special events and artists Nov. 12. The evening walkabout takes place from 4 to 9 p.m. and includes a range of works in painting, sculpture, ceramics and pottery, jewelry, glass, music and more. For more info:

Historic Fort Reno in El Reno hosts its final Ghosts of Fort Reno Tour of the year on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. By lantern light, hear the stories of the restless spirits of the old post align with some of the unsolved mysteries and murders that have occurred here. Also visit with paranormal research teams who have done investigations at the Fort. Cost is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for children. Reservations are required. In celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Oklahoma City Zoo offers free admission the day before Thanksgiving each year. All guests can visit the Zoo free of charge Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more info:

Oklahoma City’s Downtown in December holiday festivities kick off Nov. 25 at 5:15 p.m. with Mayor Mick Cornett and Santa as they light the SandRidge Christmas Tree. Following the ceremony, enjoy free Santa photos, live music, cookies, cocoa and more family-friendly activities. Downtown in December continues through Jan. 1 with an abundance of activities in downtown OKC including ice skating, snow tubing, holiday lights, Water Taxi rides and much more. For more info:

November also includes the opening of many holiday light displays in Central Oklahoma Frontier Country: Midwest City’s Holiday Lights Spectacular is Nov. 18-Dec. 30, Yukon’s Christmas in the Park is Nov. 19-Dec. 31 and Chickasha’s Festival of Light is Nov. 22-Dec. 31.
