CENTRAL OKLAHOMA – Yukon’s annual Pumpkin Harvest Craft Festival is Nov. 3 at the Robertson Activity Center. The free event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. features more than 40 craft booths with a variety of products including candles, jewelry, hand-crafted items, home décor, holiday décor and more.
The Guthrie Art Walk is a celebration of fine art, food and fun as historic downtown Guthrie shops and galleries showcase special events and artists Nov. 10. The evening walkabout takes place from 4 to 9 p.m. and includes a range of works in painting, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, jewelry, music and more.
Celebrate Oklahoma Statehood Day Nov. 17 at the Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the museum will offer free admission for all guests in honor of Oklahoma’s 105th birthday along with family-friendly activities and an Oklahoma birthday cake.
Historic Fort Reno in El Reno hosts its final Ghosts of Fort Reno Tour of the year on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. By lantern light, hear the stories of the restless spirits of the old post align with some of the unsolved mysteries and murders that have occurred here. Cost is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for children. Reservations are required. Ghosts of Fort Reno Tours will resume in spring 2013.
In celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Oklahoma City Zoo offers free admission the day before Thanksgiving each year. All guests can visit the Zoo free of charge Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Oklahoma City’s Downtown in December, presented by Devon holiday festivities kick off with the SandRidge Christmas Tree Lighting Festival Nov. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. Enjoy free Santa photos, live music, popcorn, cocoa and more family-friendly activities. Downtown in December continues through Jan. 1 with an abundance of activities in downtown OKC including ice skating, snow tubing, holiday lights, Water Taxi rides and much more.
November also includes the opening of many holiday light displays in Central Oklahoma Frontier Country: Midwest City’s Holiday Lights Spectacular is Nov. 16-Dec. 30, Yukon’s Christmas in the Park is Nov. 17-Dec. 31 and Chickasha’s Festival of Light is Nov. 20-Dec. 31.
