CENTRAL OKLAHOMA – The greatest names in professional rodeo test their skills at the annual Timed Event Championship of the World March 1-3 at Lazy E Arena in Guthrie. Seventeen-time world champion Trevor Brazile headlines the top 20 cowboys competing in five timed events – heading, heeling, tie-down roping, steer roping, steer wrestling. Performances are March 1-2 at noon and 7:30 p.m. and March 3 at 1 p.m. Ticket prices vary.

Take a tour by lantern light during the Ghosts of Fort Reno Tour March 16 and hear the stories of restless spirits of the old post, along with some of the unsolved mysteries and murders that occurred at historic Fort Reno, four miles west of El Reno. Ghost Tours are conducted the third Saturday of each month from March to November. Cost is $5-$10 and reservations are required.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Oklahoma River Cruises March 17 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Enjoy a climate-controlled, Irish-themed St. Patty’s Day Cruise along the Oklahoma River in Oklahoma City complete with light appetizers and a cash bar. Come early for a pre-cruise dock party at Meridian Landing featuring live bagpipes at 6 p.m. before the cruise departs at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $29 per person.

Load up your little cowboys and cowgirls for an adventure at the Oklahoma History Center’s third annual Cowboy Round-up, March 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cowboys and chuck wagons will bring the cattle drive era to life for visitors of all ages with rope making, branding, a medicine man show and more.

Oklahoma City’s Myriad Botanical Gardens celebrates its 25th anniversary this month! Join the Gardens in this milestone birthday on March 25 with a reception, open to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Myriad Botanical Gardens restaurant space. The celebration will continue throughout the year as the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory offers free admission on the 25th of each month.
