The following is a truncated list of events occurring in Central Oklahoma Frontier Country.


CENTRAL OKLAHOMA – The International Finals Rodeo is back Jan.14-16 at the State Fair Arena in Oklahoma City. The IFR features four action-packed performances to watch the professional cowboys and cowgirls from the International Professional Rodeo Association compete for cash and prizes. Each Monday during January and February, enjoy free admission for all ages at the Oklahoma City Zoo.  For more information: okczoo.com.

Join the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City for Family Saturday Jan. 15. In conjunction with the museum’s exhibit “The Uncanny Adventures of Okie Cartoonists”, children dressed in super hero costumes will be admitted free to the museum with an adult admission. For more information: okhistorycenter.org.

The Sam Noble Museum in Norman hosts Movie Night at the Museum: "The Secret of Kells" Jan. 21. Bring a pillow and sleeping bag for this family movie night in the museum’s Great Hall at 7 p.m. Galleries are open until 7 p.m. and the movie is included in regular museum admission. See all the favorite nursery rhyme characters during Humpty Dumpty Jan. 28-Feb. 11 at the Oklahoma Children’s Theatre on the OCU campus in Oklahoma City. Children and adults alike will enjoy this show to see who can put Humpty Dumpty back together again. For more information: oklahomachildrenstheatre.org.

Family Day at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art in Norman is Jan. 30. Explore art in the museum’s permanent collection and temporary exhibitions and enjoy a variety of hands-on art activities for the entire family. Admission is free on Family Days. For more information: ou.edu/fjjma.
