Frontier Country marketing meeting focuses on trade show marketing
OKLAHOMA CITY - Frontier Country Marketing Association holds its monthly "Hour with an Expert" marketing meeting 10 a.m. Nov. 20 at the Oklahoma Opry theater in the Capitol Hill Main Street district to discuss consumer trade show marketing.
Sherri Rogers, executive director of the tourism promotion organization, will give an overview of utilizing trade shows as an effective marketing tool. She along with Cristy Morrison, executive director of the Stillwater Convention and Visitors Bureau, will provide important tips on how to create successful booth displays, common mistakes, creative pitches and hooks, literature distribution, promotional giveaway items and other tactics that trade show attendees can use to increase business.
"Trade shows are a powerful element for any tourist attraction's overall marketing strategy to generate direct inquiries, create interest and increase attendance," said Rogers, who has attended countless trade shows in her previous position as executive director for the Norman Convention and Visitors Bureau. "You may ask, who is this appropriate for? This trade show knowledge can help anyone in business, whether it's restaurants, hotels, chambers of commerce, CVBs and other tourist attractions."
In addition, the marketing meeting will give an overview of co-operative trade show opportunities for Frontier Country members to publicize their tourism events and attractions to regional travelers at trade shows. Frontier Country members will have the opportunity to learn about attending or having brochure distribution at several upcoming travel trade shows, including the McAllen International Travel Show, Wichita Women's Fair, National Red Hatters Convention and several Group Leaders of America chapter meetings.
The marketing meeting is free to all Frontier Country members and $10 for non-members. Call 405-232-6552 to sign up.
