Frontier Country Marketing Association Hosts Elected Officials Luncheon

OKLAHOMA CITY-  Frontier Country Marketing Association will host its 2009 Elected Officials Luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 24 at the Harn Homestead, 1721 N. Lincoln in Oklahoma City. The luncheon features a sports theme with guest speakers from the local sports industry, including Ron Radigonda, executive director of the Amateur Softball Association of America.

Elected city and state officials are encouraged to attend to learn more about how everyone benefits economically when sporting events come to Oklahoma.

"We want our elected officials to be aware that sporting events in the 12 counties of central Oklahoma brings hundreds of thousands of visitors to our great state each year," said Sherri Rogers, executive director of Frontier Country Marketing Association. "Many of these people would never have come here had it not been for a sporting event. After meeting some of these visitors and listening to them, they have nothing but great things to say and they seem to take away more than just memories once they have left. For hotels, restaurants, merchants, attractions and museums the sports industry is vital for their economic survival."

Frontier Country members may attend the Elected Officials Luncheon for $20 per ticket. For more information or to RSVP by March 19 call 405-232-6552.

Frontier Country Marketing Association, a 501 c-6 organization, promotes the economic growth of the tourism industry in the 12 central counties of Oklahoma. For more information about Frontier Country, visit www.oktourism.com or call (800) FUN-OKLA.
