Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art Celebrates with a Special "Kiss" Valentines Weekend!
The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art in Norman celebrates Valentine's Day Weekend with a special "kiss" and two-for-one admission February 12-14. The fun starts February 12 from 6-9 p.m. with free admission, hands-on Valentine's card making, live music by the OU School of Music and a short film by deadCENTER Film Festival as part of the monthly Art "a la CART" program. While creating free Valentine cards, visitors will be serenaded with live flute and marimba duets, instrumental guitar and 20th century compositions. A romantic sculpture by renowned 19th century artist Auguste Rodin is sure to add some heat to visiting couples. Cast between 1887 and 1901, the famous embrace of Francesca da Rimini and Paolo Malatesta is captured eternally in Rodin's "The Kiss," on display through March 15.
