Central Oklahoma's September-October calendar now available

The following is a truncated list of events occurring in Frontier Country:

CENTRAL OKLAHOMA – Purchase original artwork and handicrafts at the 30th annual Arts Festival Oklahoma held at the Oklahoma City Community College Aug. 29 to Sept.1. The free Labor Day weekend event features multiple artists, live performances, a children’s activities tent and a diverse selection of food venders.

Lederhosen not required. Celebrate German culture through dance, music and fun during Choctaw’s annual Oktoberfest in the Park held at the Choctaw Creek Park Sept. 3 to 6. This four-day festival offers unique German cuisine and a variety of imported beers. This year, admission to the park after 5 p.m. is $1.

Celebrate the days of the Western frontier during Mustang’s annual Western Days held Sept. 5 to 6 in Mustang along Highway 152. The community-wide free event includes a rodeo, parade, music, entertainment, the Mustang Car Show and more.

The Oklahoma City Philharmonic kicks off its 20th anniversary season with the Opening Night with Itzhak Perlman concert 8 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Civic Center Music Hall. Music director Joel Levin leads the Inasmuch Classic Series with renowned violinist Perlman.
