The following is a truncated list of events occurring in Central Oklahoma Frontier Country.

CENTRAL OKLAHOMA – The long warm days of summer will usher in the LibertyFest 2018 Taste of Edmond in Downtown Edmond on July 1. Over 40 restaurants from around our area will provide visitors to the Festival Market Place with lip-smacking delicacies and comfort food that is beyond compare. A Taste of Edmond is a fundraiser for LibertyFest, ensuring the festival for years to come. You can't beat the price for all you can eat event. Time: 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Price: $12 per person in advance and $17 per person day of the event. Children 10 and under free. In Chisholm Trail Park, Yukon’s Freedom Fest on July 4 will include activities all day for the family including a Children’s Parade, Craft Tent, Car Show, pony rides, laser tag, inflatables, and $1 Swim at City Splash Pool. In the evening, Yukon’s Freedom Fest continues with a Hot Dog eating contest, free watermelon and ice cream, the Super Freak Band and concludes with a performance by the OKC Philharmonic and a huge fireworks show at 10 p.m.! Each Wednesday in July the Oklahoma History Center will host Okietales from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Okietales is a one-of-a-kind reading and storytelling time where kids see and hear history! Every week Okietales will dive into history with books and stories that explore a different topic, from the Wild West and cowboys to land runs and pioneer life. This program is designed for ages 5-9. Admission is $2. Time: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. For more information, visit www.okhistory.org.

Enjoy a 90-minute guided walking tour amongst beautiful Victorian/Edwardian Era architecture along with tales of history, lore, and the hauntings or strange happenings around Guthrie. Guthrie Ghost Walks are every Friday and Saturday evening through July! $10 for adults, children 7-15 $7, under 7 free. Walks begin at 7:15 p.m. at the Apothecary Gardens.
