The following is a truncated list of events occurring in Frontier Country:

CENTRAL OKLAHOMA - See the powerful and colorful exhibit, "The Guardian & The Shield" through Jan. 31 at the Red Earth Museum in Oklahoma City. The exhibit features paintings and cultural items from Red Earth's permanent collection, photographs of Oklahoma's 39 tribal flags and fascinating information describing the use and symbolism of the tribal shields and flags.

See "Images of the American West" at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art in Norman Jan. 24 through March 8.  This exhibition presents artists who sought picturesque landscapes of Western terrain, images of the dress and customs of Native American communities and recounts of cultural conflict in the Western U.S. borderlands around the turn of the 20th Century.

Test your sports trivia knowledge against other teams Jan. 30 at the 7th Annual Sports Trivia Bowl at Sooner Legends Inn & Suites in Norman. Registration is at 5:30 p.m., dinner begins at 6:15 p.m. and the games begin at 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place.

See 10 artists playing back-to-back Jan. 31 from 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. at the Red Dirt Music Fest at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie. This all-ages show features artists like No Justice, Johnny Cooper, Granger Smith and more. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the gate and $75 for V.I.P.
