Central Oklahoma's August-September Calendar Now Available

The following is a truncated list of events occurring in Frontier Country:

CENTRAL OKLAHOMA – Get a view of the beautiful Oklahoma City skyline while drinks and live Jazz music at Cocktails on the Skyline on the Roof Terrace of the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. Take part in this classy occasion every Thursday and Friday evening from 5 to 10:30 p.m.in August and enjoy the current temporary exhibit “Roman Art from the Louvre.”

The Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park, the state’s premier classical theatre company, performs the dramatic tale of “Richard III” the month of August. All performances begin at 8 p.m. on Aug.7 – 9, 14 – 16, 21 – 23, & 30 at the Myriad Gardens Water Stage in downtown Oklahoma.

Take part in the 19th Oklahoma Indian Nations Pow Wow, and enjoy food, games and sports tournaments. Activities include a 5K buffalo run, turtle races, a volleyball tournament, and more. There will be live traditional Native American dancers and other forms of entertainment at the Concho Parade Grounds in El Reno Aug. 1 – 3.

Head to Yukon for its summer Concert in the Park series 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evenings at the Chisholm Trail Park Gazebo. Bring a lawn chair and blankets and enjoy a free evening of music. Listen to country music by Core Country Aug. 7 and Champ Devere Aug. 14, and rock music from Yu-Can Coalition Aug. 21.
