Central Oklahoma’s Event Calendar February 2018

The following is a truncated list of events occurring in Central Oklahoma Frontier Country.

CENTRAL OKLAHOMA – Enjoy the electrifying original Broadway hit, “A Few Good Men” at The Pollard Theatre, about the trial of two Marines for complicity in the death of a fellow Marine at Guantanamo Bay. The 7th Annual Yukon Chocolate Festival “Affair Extraordinaire” is not one to be missed on February 3 as it will feature a wide variety of chocolate treats served up by local businesses and groups. Also featured will be a silent auction consisting of an array of chocolate items. Proceeds benefit Yukon Friends of the Park and Ladies Library Club. For more information, visit yukonok.gov.

The annual Norman Mardi Gras Parade will travel through the Walker Arts District in Downtown Norman East on Main Street from Jones Ave. to Crawford Ave. then back to the starting point on Comanche Ave on February 10. For more information, visit normanmardigrasparade.com.

A dance troupe of world champion Irish step dancers comes to the Armstrong Auditorium on February 20. The Dublin Irish Dance – Stepping Out brings together a sensational eight-member traditional Irish band and vocalist. Dublin Irish Dance is an exhilarating company whose members have performed throughout the world with Riverdance, Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, and Celtic Woman. The all-star cast brings to life the epic tale of Celtic culture, carrying its traditional melodies and steps to the New World with a gala celebration of Irish music and dance.
