Celebrate This Mother's Day in Frontier Country
CENTRAL OKLAHOMA – Entertain mom on her special day Sunday, May 9, by taking her to one of central Oklahoma’s Frontier Country restaurants or attractions that are offering plenty of discounts and special events in honor of mom.
Oklahoma City’s Adventure District
Moms and families can enjoy a variety of activities in
Oklahoma City’s Adventure District on Mother’s Day. Treat mom to a special
buffet hosted by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum’s Dining on Persimmon Hill restaurant
served in the grand Sam Noble Special Events Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Museum admission is included. Reservations are
required at (405) 478-2250, ext. 281.
Go wild at the Oklahoma City Zoo where moms will receive free admission from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m. with any paid admission. See native Oklahoma animals in the
Oklahoma Trails exhibit, plus the Great EscApe and Cat Forest and Lion Overlook
exhibits or hang out in the brand new Children’s Zoo.
Take mom to enjoy some exciting gaming action at Remington Park. Moms will have
an opportunity to win a special Mother’s Day gift basket including hotel
nights, restaurant certificates and spa days.
Downtown Oklahoma City
In Downtown Oklahoma City, three fantastic museums will
honor mothers by providing free admission to moms with a paid family member.
Participating attractions include Oklahoma City Museum of Art, the Oklahoma
City National Memorial & Museum and the newest attraction, the American
Banjo Museum. On Mother’s Day, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art is open from
noon to 5 p.m., the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is open from 1
to 6 p.m. and the American Banjo Museum in Bricktown is open from noon to 5
p.m.
University of
Oklahoma Museums, Norman
Bring your mother to the University of Oklahoma’s two world-class museums
on Mother’s Day for some special treatment. Moms will receive free admission at
the Sam Noble Museum and the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art from 1 to 5 p.m. In
addition to free admission for moms, the two OU museums offer a reciprocal
discount for those who visit both museums on the same day. Show your receipt or ticket stub from one
museum at the other museum on a same day visit and receive a $1 per person
discount at the second museum. At these rates, a family of four can visit both
museums for Mother’s Day for under $20.
