Posted by Emily Reagan, public relations director on 05/27/2008
CENTRAL OKLAHOMA – This summer, Frontier Country is reviving its popular summer campaign “Trips on a Tank Full” that offers special discounts to central Oklahoma’s tourist attractions.
From Memorial Day through Labor Day, travelers are encouraged to visit the Frontier Country Web site at www.oktourism.com to download “Trips on a Tank Full” money-saving coupons, request free brochures and travel guides, and create itineraries to plan their summer getaways in central Oklahoma.
According to a recent AAA report, Oklahoma City is one of the least expensive vacation metropolitans and Oklahoma is the sixth least expensive state to visit. With high gas prices, summer tourists are looking for reasonable driving destinations so they can save money on transportation costs and budget more for tourist activities and sight-seeing.
“Not only is central Oklahoma a great economic travel option, the area is gaining recognition as a hot tourism destination,” said Tony Vann, executive director of Frontier Country Marketing Association. “This summer visit Oklahoma, save money on gas and spend your vacation dollars at the attractions.”
In central Oklahoma, tourists can experience Oklahoma’s frontier with Old West and Native American Heritage, agri-tourism activities, Route 66 sights, world-class museums and exciting sporting events. Plus there are hundreds of family-friendly events and special temporary exhibits listed online at www.oktourism.com.
Frontier Country Marketing Association, a 501-c6 organization, promotes the economic growth of the tourism industry in the 12 central counties of Oklahoma. For more information, visit www.oktourism.com or call (800) FUN-OKLA.
