Prague, Oklahoma, named after the capital city of Czechoslovakia, welcomes people from around the world each spring to celebrate the Czech culture that played a vital role in the city's founding. The history of Prague is rich with Czech influence and was originally named "Praha" by the early Czech settlers in found memory of their native homeland. Prague is centrally located from Oklahoma's two largest cities: 50 miles east of Oklahoma city and 65 miles southwest of Tulsa.
