Firehouse Art Center

The Norman Firehouse Art Center enriches the community by offering the highest quality visual arts education, experiences and exhibits.

Founded in 1971 by three local artists, the Firehouse Arts Center fosters the appreciation, enjoyment, and practice of art. Recognized statewide today for its leadership role in the arts, the FAC enriches Norman and the surrounding communities through quality visual arts education, exhibitions and experiences.

The Firehouse Art Center is a non-profit community arts center with classrooms and equipment, an exhibition gallery and a gallery gift shop. It is the largest of the state's regional art centers devoted exclusively to the visual arts. Drawing on the expertise of professional artists and teachers, the faculty and staff are committed to the development of arts awareness and understanding by offering studio classes, workshops, special programs, and exhibitions.

Partially funded by The Oklahoma Arts Council, The City of Norman, The Norman Arts Council, Sarkeys Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Art, the FAC derives additional income from memberships, tuition, and corporate sponsorship of events as well as donations to a scholarship fund.
