Info: Since the early 20th century, travel has been an important part of the American experience, especially the family vacations and road trips synonymous with summer vacations. Wanderlust: Travel and American Photography examines the role American highways and interstates have played in the migratory desires of the American people. The exhibition includes photographs from Berenice Abbott’s photo essay of Route 1; the 1981 American Roads portfolio, complied by Victor Landweber; and Dennis Stock’s James Dean: A Memorial Portfolio, which documents the actor’s final visits to his homes in Indiana and New York.
